When the “Oil Life” indicator on your Honda Civic dash warns that it’s time to replace your car’s oil, it’s easy to call up your local Lynn Honda dealer and schedule an oil change! However, as you drive off the lot with fresh oil in your reservoir, you may find that the indicator hasn’t reset to reflect your car’s 100% oil life. What Factors Affect Oil Life?

Multiple factors affect how often you should change your oil. Among them are your vehicle’s engine load temperature, and mileage. Your driving frequency and habits also have an impact in terms of average speeds, and what kind of terrain you cover in Lawrence. Because each of these factors has an effect on oil life, the length of time between oil changes can differ each time. Fortunately, the Honda Civic oil light makes knowing when to schedule service a lot easier!
